Blue Light and Eyeglasses

What is Blue Light?

Blue light is a part of the visible light spectrum with a wavelength between 380–500 nanometers. It is emitted by natural sources like the sun and artificial sources such as LED screens, smartphones, tablets, and fluorescent lighting.

How Does Blue Light Affect Us?

Excessive exposure to blue light, especially from screens, can lead to:
Digital Eye Strain (Computer Vision Syndrome) – Symptoms include dry eyes, headaches, and blurred vision.
Disrupted Sleep Patterns – Blue light suppresses melatonin production, making it harder to fall asleep.
Increased Risk of Retinal Damage – Prolonged exposure may contribute to macular degeneration over time.
